Transform your life
Transform your life
Sometimes you just know it’s time to invest in yourself. Therapy isn’t having the effect you want to have by itself, and the parenting books are just not working for your family.
You NEED something that really GETS you - that puts all the pieces of your life together, integrated - to help you heal, grow as a parent, and really, truly TRANSFORM.
I’m thinking of investing in myself…
Nothing is changing, I need to try something different.
But I’m not sure if I should. I have always put others first. I am a pro at therapy, and I love my therapist but I think we’ve hit a plateau, or we’re just not getting anywhere. I’m tired of talking about the same stuff. I keep repeating the same patterns and I need something different. I’m really tired of the westernized, medicalized version of therapy anyway. Maybe I can do both…
I haven’t been able to find help that really HELPS, y’know? I work on my own patterns and my childhood trauma, but then when I’m with my kids, I’ll go from calm to raging freak in seconds when I’m triggered and then feel like the worst mom in the world! Why isn’t all my healing work working? Shouldn’t I be getting better? Is there something that can help me do both - heal AND parent in the same process?
Is there something that can help me heal AND parent in the same process?
We need help from someone that truly gets our family.
We are a connected, stable, family. We co-regulate, our kids are securely attached, we homeschool. I feel like we are “more together” than who mental health professionals see, and it’s hard to find someone with the experience and depth of knowledge that can really go as deep as we need, spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. Someone who really GETS our family. But our child is struggling. She’s so sensitive, and we just need some support and guidance beyond the standard.

Great question. You'll hear a lot of people say "coaching looks forward and therapy deals with the past" but I call bullshit on that. The past affects everything we do.
My answer is that therapy is clinical, and can diagnose and care for the mentally ill and unstable.
Coaching assumes a certain level of emotional stability, and is more "personal growth and healing" if you will.
As a coach, I will not be diagnosing you, but I also won't be helping you if you are unstable, suicidal, clinically depressed and need a higher level of care than I can provide online. If I feel that you need a higher level of care than I can provide as a coach, then I will help you find the clinical help you need in your local area. -
Not at ALL. I am a credentialed therapist in the state of Montana, after all.
I also know that westernized, colonized, medicalized mental health therapy often is dehumanizing, and often (depending on the therapist) discounts lived experience, cultural norms, systemic oppression as a source of symptoms, and the modality a therapist uses is important.
Also, therapy is not accessible for everyone, therapists don't make a lot of money if they make themselves accessible to people with less resources, making themselves more at risk for burnout and at higher levels of stress, and the mental health insurance industry is a systemic wide problem that keeps therapists as well as their clients trapped.
If you are in therapy with a therapist you are connected with, who supports you, and your heart is safe in their hands, please, continue your work and healing with that person! I 100% support you, and your therapist. -
Thanks for asking. I don't talk about it much. I grew up in the 70's in a family that actively taught my sister and I about prejudice and racism, was enrolled in an intentionally multicultural school with diverse teachers and student body, and my first act of anti-racism was when I was 9 and I wrote to a children's magazine that didn't have, imo, enough diversity on the cover art month after month.
In 2000, I went to my first graduate program and began understanding more about systemic oppression, and internalized racism, and that's when I began understanding racism as more than simply being "mean things people say and do." I began actively working on my internalized white racism then, within myself. I have read and continue to read books, went to Black-led workshops, journaled, made and continue to make mistakes, learn from them and am humbled over and over again.
I speak out - and have lost a job over standing up for the rights of Black and other oppressed people - and have quit another, due to policies that were oppressive. I walk my talk and am there on the front lines to protect those with less privilege then I have. -

I am AuDHD - for those not in the know, that means I have ADHD and I'm autistic. My whole family is neurodivergent, and we celebrate that even though it is hard sometimes to function in a world built for neurotypical/colonized people.
I also have been part of a group discriminated for body size, and currently am experiencing people treating me differently because - gasp - I'm getting older.
I am nonbinary, but I pass for a woman (also a marginalized group), so that isn't as noticeable but it affects me when LGBTQ+ groups are oppressed as I am in that group.
I have a lot of privilege, and I am aware of it and use it to help those with less whenever I can. -
Of course. I ask that you don't send the courses outside your home, as it is my way of making a living and I do price them to be as accessible as possible to as many people as I can.
Sessions may be very personal - so that's entirely up to you. -
Maybe, it depends. I know some atheists that define that as "I don't believe in an old man in the sky" but wholeheartedly believe in "something bigger" than them that they connect with: Nature, Love, Energy...You could also take the courses that aren't about spirituality and still get a lot of good hard science-backed information. :)

A pox upon you! Hell no! I'm proudly GenX, and had my Saturday's free to roam and drank from the hoses and everything. I was a 70's kid, and an 80's teen.
What's different about me from much of my generation is that it was my MOM who was the cyclebreaker - so we DID talk about feelings, we were treated with respect, and even though she didn't get it perfectly and I had some trauma NOT from my parents (there definitely was some healing to be done) I had a pretty great childhood. -

A river otter.
Graceful in the water, a little clumsy on land, but at home in both, they are family oriented, playful, friendly but fierce and feisty when crossed.
